In Louisiana, medical malpractice cases are very difficult to prosecute. The underlying medicine is usually extremely complex, and the law is generally physician-favorable.         Remember that you have only one year from the date of an event to file your claim. The sole exception to that rule is that you may bring a claim within one year of the date you discover it, as long as you are within three years of the event.
